East vs. West: overview
In general, we can say that the fundamental concepts and options in Vedic
Astrology otdalënnuû links are very similar things in Western Astrology.
Western Astrology originated from Greek, which, in turn, came from the
Indian: Alexander the great in their time, having been in India, brought
out a few connoisseurs of Jyotisha Veda to those taught in Greece. Over
time the knowledge have evolved, distorted and, as a result of what is
now called the Western Astrology, is fundamentally different from the
original Indian knowledge. If we talk about the main difference, the
Jyotish is the Vedanga Jyotisha, a combining unit that is only an
integral part of a system called "Sanatana Dharma", which is more than
5000 years. Basis of Jyotish-ancient classical treatises 4 Vedas
(Veda-Adharva, Rigveda, etc.), which describes the fundamental
principles to support human life in harmony with nature and the world
around them. Natural as the Foundation of modern Western Astrology in
that regard are much more modest. Below you will find basic concepts
that should handle any Jyotish-astrologer and also will look at some of
the differences of Vedic Astrology from the West.
Grahas, Rashi
The main parameters for Janma Kundali (horoscope) at Džjotiše are 9 Grahas (planets) and the 12 Rashi (Rashi in Sanskrit means "beam of sparkling constellation" and refers to the zodiac sign). They are the basis for the absolute rest of many elements of Jyotisha, such as:
Bhava (Bhava-term in Sanskrit meaning "place", "share", which in Western Astrology is referred to as "home." in any horoscope has 12 Bhāv (based on the number of signs of the zodiac), each of which is placed in a Rashi and is responsible for a certain area in the life of a particular person. for more information, see the section "Bhavah Jyotish: Bhava");
Nakšatry (Nakšatry is 27 Tufts Lunar constellations, each of which is in a certain Nakšatrah is based on Rashi is a self-contained system that can be used to compile and analyze the horoscopes, Nakšatry is a Chakra (the word "chakra" in Sanskrit means "wheel" or "circle"), further clarifying the information that can be obtained in the analysis of Rašičakry and Bhavačakry (Rašičakra can be translated as "zodiacal circle" and Bhāv as "the circle Bhavacakrafor certain Rashi ");
Drišti (this term in Sanskrit means the sight "of each Graha, and by which it spreads its influence on those of Rashi (and, accordingly, and walks of life), which looks);
Varga (another name - Amshas) is subdivisonal horoscopes, that are the hallmark of Jyotisha (D1-Rashi (primary horoscope, by which everything is built), D2-Hora, D3-Dreshkana, D4-Chaturamsha, etc.) They are constructed on the basis of precise degrees Grahas in each Rashi and are whole separate horoscopes, sharpened under certain areas of human life. for example, the chorus (D2) is used for detailed analysis of human well-being);
etc.
Grahas
in Vedic tradition is not just a planet, it is Devas are the holders of
the Karma on the Earth. At our level of Grahas are designed to pick up
and let off both negative and positive karma. So, are the main guides
Grahas in our world, the extent of "the wind of destiny". Signs of the
Zodiac Rashi is a specific zone in space and time, which would embody
the spheres of our life and are "slices of our consciousness", through
which, in turn, are implemented using the Grahas. Rashi, as svoebraznymi
shares of consciousness in the horoscope is always supervised by a
certain sphere of life (for example, 4-th Rashi is responsible for
family life and how it would relate to the situation of the Grahas at
certain times, is the most powerful way to impact on family life of a
person). Hence it can be concluded that almost everything in a person's
life depends on the mestopolženiâ and their Grahas in a Rashi at the
current point in time.
Janma Kundali, Rashichakra and Kalapurusha
The
display system of the signs of the Zodiac is a table called Rašičakroj
in Sanskrit, which is based in astrology any Janma Kundali (horoscope at
the time of birth). Rašičakra is a window into a world in which people
with a certain skill can see all he wants. Horoscope is the picture of
the world that emerged at the time of birth of the person which shows
the then state of things in the world and shows the human place in it.
Janma Kundali allows you to see the prospects for human development,
events that will happen in his lifetime, and also shows the Interior of
an individual. All these points are closely associated with this notion
in the Džjotiše, as Kalapuruša (Kaalapurusha). Kalapuruša-this is the
eternal man, which was created together with the universe, which, in
principle, and is the universe. The universe is a single living
organism, and any individual is an integrated part of it. In because
each Rashi in Rašičakre shows a certain part of the Kalapuruši
(Kalapurusha), the universal man, then, considering the Džanmakundali of
a particular person, you can even foresee any global processes
regarding this person, almost certainly not related to him.
At this point it is worth mentioning that Rashi defines only basic settings. For a detailed review of a specific event, human destiny to Rashi, there are 144 Vargas (Vargas), which define the detailed prospects for the further development of an event or the fate of a person specifically.
Styles Rašičakry
In Džjotiše there are three basic styles of display Rašičakry. Each of these styles has a specificity and motivation (which actually is a topic for another article), but in fact they are absolutely identical and horoscopes, built in different styles, are different from each other except that visually:
Southern style is a system based on the signs of the Zodiac, with dynamic Lagnoj (Lagna, ascendant), Bhavami and other parameters. This is the view of the horoscope is a stable situation of the Zodiac on the Earth (or Prithvi-see diagram below). Each of the small cells around the large square to the ground in a concrete, fixed refers to the zodiac. Southern style on par with the North is one of the most commonly used styles Jyotishi, used in practice.
Northern style, in turn, is opposite to the South, as it is based on a fixed Bhavam (homes) with moving them the signs of the zodiac.
There is also an Oriental style, but it is rarely applied in practice.
"Tropical" and "sidereal" zodiacs. Ayanamsha
As
far as Rashi, then by comparing the Vedic and Western Astrology, you
can tell that they are fundamentally different from each other. The
fundamental difference between them is the difference between the
so-called "rain" and "sidereal" zodiakami. Tropical Zodiac is calculated
on the basis of the positions of the planets, which actually does not
exist. Actual position of the Sun, as the current data in Western
Astrology the Zodiac is determined, was in 285 ad the reason for this is
the fact that vysčityvanii the provisions of all the planets and in
particular the zodiacs, the basis of the data on the rotation of the
earth around the Sun and our planet's rotation around its axis. But
Western Astrology does not take into account the as the axis of the
Earth is its amplitude of rotation around itself. This amplitude is
small enough, the year its deviation is only about 50 seconds of her
previous situation, but it is the result of the fact that year after
year, the axis of the Earth is rejected at a certain degree from that of
the axis, which in Western Astrology is considered to be the source.
And, accordingly, in view of the rotation of Earth's axis around itself,
when calculating the Grahas and zodiac signs, we get very different
values. That, in turn, causes the Rashi, calculated with account taken
of all rotations, would be different from the signs of the Zodiac, from
Western technique, approximately 23 degrees and 43 minutes. This
rejection of astrology is called Ajânamšej. True, an exact number of
degrees Ajânamši by astrologers, there is different opinions, but in
General, if a person born under 17 degrees of Virgo, the Vedic method of
calculation, he was born around under 23° 17 ' degrees of Leo. As you
know, the signs of the Zodiac are a series of consecutive 12-minute
quantities, form a closed circle, constantly changing. Since the circle
is an angle of 360° degrees, therefore, each sign of the Zodiac is 30°
c. Thus, on the basis of all of the above, the true Rashi, the man at
his birth is equal to the difference between the exact degree of the
zodiac sign on the value of Western Astrology and the dismissal of the
axis of the Earth at the time of birth.
Lagna
An
important difference in Vedic Astrology from the West is the Lagna
(ascendant sign is the Lagna or ascendant "). The answer to the question
"who are you by zodiac sign?" just will not clear, because in Eastern
astrology is the ascendant sign is the primary unit that starts the
horoscope analysis, rather than the location of the Sun at the moment of
birth (as in Western Astrology). If we turn to the definition, the
Udajâlagnoj (Udayalagna) or Džanmalagnoj (Janmalagna) in the Vedic
tradition is called the point of contact with a certain horizon of Rashi
in the East, which, on average, is changed every two hours (because
only 12 characters, and 24 hours a day), and also shows the whole
essence of the individual. Lagna (regardless of the display style
Rašičakry) is always the first Bhava horoscope and horoscope Bhavacakra
depends on it, namely the Bhava which Rashi falls.
