Favorability Calendar

Calendar of favorable dates for certain types of activity

A general instruction on how to use our Favorability Calendar (for instance, if you are looking for the best time to do a haircut or clip your nails (in Sanskrit this procedure is called Kshora-Karma)):
-    First, check the dates marked with the green color. It indicates that the particular day has started with favorable combination of ALL auspicious factors of Panchanga for the chosen activity and the most likely this day will continue to be so for the rest of it. Points on the chart marked with this color show the highest favorability level.
-    Second, check the dates marked with dark-green color. It shows that the most important Panchanga elements were favorable for the chosen activity when the day started. And it is very likely that it will go this way. Chart points highlighted with this color indicate that favorability level during this period of time is higher than average.
-    Check the calendar dates marked with white color ONLY if you haven’t found suitable “green” dates. White color shows that the day started with combination of the important Panchanga elements, which is not entirely favorable for your chosen activity. This combination includes one major or few minor inauspicious elements. But take into consideration that sometimes calendar dates are “white” only at the sunrise time and the day might improve later. As for “white” chart points – they indicate average level of favorability. In case you do not have a choice, you may use these dates.
-    In case “green” and “white” days do not fit in your schedule, you can try to analyze dates highlighted with orange color. Orange color means that morning combination of Panchanga factors is not in favor of your chosen procedure and there are strong unfavorable elements in it. Though it might improve as the day goes by, still it not advisable to choose “orange" date. Orange chart points indicate “lower-than-average” favorability level and time periods, which are generally unfavorable for your chosen activity.
-    Red speaks for itself and means that the beginning of the day is marked with unfavorable combination of all or almost all Panchanga elements. In this case it is very unlikely that the day is going to improve later. Red chart points show the lowest level of favorability, which means that the time is highly inauspicious for your chosen activity.
