  • Effect of Shani in Vrshchika Rashi

On the 2nd of November, 2014 Shanaishcharaya(Shani/ Saturn) finally came into VrshchikaRashi (Scorpio) for almost 3 years. The transit through the next Rashi, Dhanu(Sagittarius), will start only on 26th of October, 2017.
Vrshchika is traditionally considered to be the most unpredictable Rashi, which is in charge of Prarabdha Karma and unpredictable events in life. It is a mystical sign which is responsible for changes, surprises, unexpected and unknown things. Shani is the curator of Karma, whose presence in any Rashi means the following:
    1) Karma for this period of time will deal with aspects of this Rashi,
    2) everything that is related to this Rashi, will be restricted by the frames of time and circumstances, and to overcome any sudden difficulties there will always be work to be done.

Shani is related to Mahakaala (great Lord of Time), and therefore on our level He is a great curator of time, rigorous Graha that is responsible for discipline and order. Thus, Shani in the 8th Rashi of Kaalapurusha stands for organization of systematic approach to work with any kind of unforeseen circumstances. The main aspect of Vrshchika is the Ėnergy, and Shani must bring experience in working with any kind of energy. The 8th Rashi is also responsible for the spiritual practices, so Shani Gochara (transit of Saturn) through Vrshchika Rashi is a very favorable period for systematized approach to spiritual practices. In short, Shani will demand the system and discipline in any activity that deals with energy.

Vrshchika is a Rashi of unexpected changes and transformation. Shani is responsible for Karma, actions, work and career. Thus, this Gochara will globally affect Karma, it is time for changes and transformation. We can’t call this period as a stable one because the curator of systematization and order will feel quite uncomfortably in Vrshchika (as Mangala, lord of Vrshchika Rashi, isn’t the best Shani’s friend) and the concepts of "system" and "established order of things" will be subject to change. During this period there will be changes in karmic vector in the life of every living being. This will not necessarily be a change of job or career. This will change the established order of things (and Karma) in that Bhava (house), which will relate to Vrshchika and where Shani will be located. Also Shani’s location in Vrshchika shows that if any transformation or change needs to be occurred, there will be a need of hard work to accomplish this task. In general, Shani in Vrshchika Rashi also means Karma related to experiments and research. So all this period until October of 2017 will bring experiments and research in the Bhava, where Shani is located in Janma Kundali.

Also this is a time to take a responsibility in approach to health. For those people, who "ride" their body or just treat it in an irresponsible way, chronic diseases will “suddenly” occur or worsen. This is a time of testing of durability and longevity, as Shani in the 8th Rashi traditionally shows either longevity or death.

If we combine the good/bad effects of this Gochara, the list will be:
    - bad effects: nervous tension; unpleasant surprises; chronic illness; death; the increased number of work; limiting of savings; a change of attitude to life under the pressure of circumstances.
    - good effects: new skills; start of new activity; reaching a new level of precision in dealing with any risks or pitfalls.
    - and much more.
Actually You can’t call this Shani Gochara as a period for a complete relax. So… don't forget about Shani - read Mantras in His honor, feed the crows, respect and help seniors and keep responsibility for your actions.
