Parigha is the 19th Nitya (Naisargika) Yoga, which is ruled by Vishwkarman (another name - Tvashtar) and considered to be malefic one (especially the first 30 Ghatis of it). It is one of 7 other malefic Yogas (which are not so evil as Vyatipāta or Vaidhriti) and its nature can be described as "an iron bar for shutting gate", "gate of a palace", "iron club". Graha that rules Parigha is Shani (Saturn).

Another classics, Rajmartanda opines that these Yogas along with Bhadra Karana (Vishti) are even capable to destroy even Amrit Yoga.
