  • Monthly Panchanga

Monthly Panchanga is another new feature of our web-site. Panchanga is a vedic calendar that was used in India from ancient times for getting auspicious time period (Muhurta) for any activity. „Pancha” can be translated from sanskrit as „five”, „Anga” can be translated as „limb” or „element”, as for the system of Panchanga – it is based on Surya’s (Sun) and Chandra’s (Moon) interaction. Thus, a combination of 5 main forces of Surya and Chandra create 5 elements of Panchanga that uniquely influence each day life of every being.

We tried to make our calendar as transparent as possible. You can check it by yourself – although there are quite a lot of parameters (periods of every „limb”, sunrises, sunsets for each day, Rahu/Gulika Kalams, Yama Ghantaka, Brahma/Abhijeet Muhurtas and so on), it’s quite easy to use and interpret. Also we tried to make it universal so that the calendar could be used on any device – be it PC, laptop, iPad or any mobile one. NB! Working with Panchanga remember - it uses Your current location (longitude/latitude parameters that can be always changed through the setup in the header of the page (near Language changing option)).

We believe that ”Monthly Panchanga” will be helpful for everyone who studies and uses Jyotish Veda, especially those who deal with finding Muhurtas – auspicious time periods for certain activities.

    Sincerely, VedicTime.com Team
